(BSHC) in Kentucky [was] among the first in the country to receive a HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) incentive payment for the adoption of an electronic medical records system to achieve Meaningful Use. Big Sandy has received an incentive payment from the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services in the amount of $170,000, with an additional $85,000 expected in the upcoming weeks; for a total of $255,000 in reimbursements for Q1 2011.
